My Reflection for the day.

Today I did an easttle test, Maths, Writing and enjoyed doing it and learnt about new things. I learnt how to put decimals into fractions and fractions into decimals for maths and what I should have in my narrative and not to over do things in my writing. I haven't achieved anything but hoping to tomorrow on my narrative and dont have any problems and questions at the moment.

Blogs From Room 3

My Proper Narative

A cold gust of wind blew strongly by as Andy walks higher and higher. The freezing White Mountain falls with hailing snow giving the illusion of hypothermia. Andy is an average, old tall man weak but fit who had the glorious dream to climb enormous snow Mountains. He enjoys the amazing scenery, the fresh breeze and the smell of thick less air.

As squawking eagles and rumbling planes go by all he wants to hear is the breezy cold gust of victory as he is determined to reach the top. But “oh no!” as he shouted out to himself “Avalanche!” he quickly finds a safe spot to wait out the avalanche as the thundering sound of his heartbeat smashes into his ribs. Bursts of fear clouds his thoughts as he whispers to himself “will I survive this?”... A few minutes go past as the raging avalanche finally stops and wonders to himself what triggered that avalanche? But he doesn’t worry about that, as all he is focused on is getting to the top.

Each steps Andy goes higher is making him hard to breathe as if you were like holding your breath till you reach the top of a endless mountain. Andy worries as if something’s going to happen like that destructive avalanche comes blasting back but tries to thing good thoughts and thinks of his family as they will wish him happy birthday when he finishes his unbearable climb and return to his wonderful home. Andy clicks as he had a hunch that what he was climbing on was an ACTIVE VOLCANO!, With his old wise brain that’s what he thought caused the deadly avalanche as he was correct and another viscous avalanche appears when he was nearly there at the top. POW! Out of nowhere the avalanche bursts on top of him covering him with thin white snow piling on top of him. The rumble stops as a moment of silence decreases for a few seconds, but again out of nowhere, POOF!, Andy pops out of the thin white snow leaving him with no more interruptions and continues on to finishing his continuous climb.

As he reaches the top, blue skies and white clouds was all he could see as he was breathless. For what it was worth an old average man completed his life for filling dream to climb enormous snow mountains. Brinnggggg!!! As the alarm annoys Andy for waking him up as he was dreaming about his dream to climb mountains and hopefully does one day he wakes up says “wait a minute”. Andy stops and think with his old dusty brain and remembers “I’ve already done that” as the memorable memory comes back to him and ticks of the To do things in the futer on his check list and marks right next to “to for fill my dream” *tick and happily goes back to sleep with a grin on his face.

Goals For The Year

My goal for reading is to get closer to my chronological age. I am slowly getting there and want to be there by the end of the year. To achieve this I need to read more at home, continue to develop the strategies I use when reading and to get my parents to question me about what I read.
To improve my writing I need to make sure I plan my in detail, use more adjectives and descriptive language and make sure I use correct punctuation.
My goal for mathematics is to develop my understanding of fractions. To do this I will need to play math games that involve fractions, work hard during lessons on fractions and get my parents to help me at home.

Spider monkey

Spider monkeys are fast energetic mammals that swing from branch to branch quickly and quietly.

Spider monkeys are usually all black but some have flesh coloured rings around their eyes and white chin whiskers and have slender bodies and limbs with long narrow hands. Spider monkeys also have long lanky arms and long tails that allow them to move from tree to tree swing or hang. (Interesting fact is that spider monkeys can swing from tree to tree as fast as humans can run on ground). Weirdly they are the only type of monkey to have no thumbs but they still have a strong grip on what they hang on to. Spider Monkey colours can be golden, red, brown or black, and their feet generally black. These monkeys depend highly on their keen binocular vision.

There are many different spider monkeys like the Red faced Spider Monkey, Black handed Spider Monkey, Brown Spider Monkey, White cheek Spider Monkey and many more. Some more popular species are Peruvian Spider Monkey, Columbian Spider Monkey, Mexican Spider Monkey and Hooded Spider Monkey. Some of these Spider Monkeys are endangered. As well as their species are decreased because of their habitat destruction.

Spider Monkeys are found all over the world. They are normally located in Peru, Brazil, North Mexico, South America and in tropical forests. They like to live in tall trees so they can move around by swinging on branches and find acorns to eat for a snack. You can find spider monkeys in zoos or in monkey preserve.

Spider Monkeys have a diet of 90% fruit and seeds. They eat nuts, seeds, insects, flowers, eggs, fruit, leaves and poisonous spiders. In captivity Spider Monkeys are fed fruit such as bananas, apples, oranges, celery, lettuce and wheat bread.

When Spider Monkey babies are born they rely on their mother for ten weeks. When that time is over they start to explore and travel on their own to places and learn to do things independently. Female Spider Monkeys give birth to only a single baby every two to three years. The baby Spider Monkey often move around with their mother clinging on to her back and wrapping their tails together for additional security and the babies also rely on the mother for milk.

When Spider Monkeys are born they start of by weighing 12 – 20 pounds and 35 – 65 cm in height. Sadly Spider monkeys only live up to 30 years. When they grow older they usually travel with other Spider Monkeys. Surprisingly in packs of 20 – 30 which is called troops and the female Spider Monkeys are more dominate in the troop.

Matariki

Matariki is the Maori name for the group of stars also known as the Pleiades star cluster or The Seven Sisters and is referred to the traditional Maori New Year. The rise of Matariki can be seen in the last few days of May every year and the new year is marked at the sighting of the next new moon which occurs during June. Matariki has two meanings, Mata Riki (Tiny eyes) and Mata Ariki (Eyes of god). Today Matariki means celebrating the unique place in which we live and giving respect to the land we live on. Traditionally celebrations lasted up to 3 days after the new moon had risen following Matariki becoming visible.

Attacking & Defending

Good attackers work as a team and always have a plan.

Good defenders look for space mark and try to intercept the ball.

I looked for space passed it and improved on defending the ball.

The class passed a lot and had a plan.

We need to look for space and spread out more.

What Processes Change The Earths Surface?

The Earths surfaces changes by weather e.g wind, water, tornado, cyclone, storm and floods because water carves land aways and flood takes over land aswell as wind, cyclone and tornados blow away the land. Erosion can also change by wind, water and ice because ice expands and pushes the land away.
